True Worship, 7/20/16

This message is for all who think they want to build a church building.

Brothers, please read John 4:19-24 and see that Jesus made it clear that true worship to God is not an issue of a location but of an attitude of heart:

John 4:19-24 New King James Version (NKJV)

19 The woman said to Him, “Sir, I perceive that You are a prophet. 20 Our fathers worshiped on this mountain, and you Jews say that in Jerusalem is the place where one ought to worship.”

21 Jesus said to her, “Woman, believe Me, the hour is coming when you will neither on this mountain, nor in Jerusalem, worship the Father. 22 You worship what you do not know; we know what we worship, for salvation is of the Jews. 23 But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him. 24 God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.”

Also, notice that when Jesus died the presence of God LEFT THE TEMPLE and moved out so that God could be with us wherever we are:

Matthew 27:51

Then, behold, the veil of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom; and the earth quaked, and the rocks were split,

Mark 15:38

Then the veil of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom.

Luke 23:45

Then the sun was darkened, and the veil of the temple was torn in two.

God does not need big fancy church houses to do what he wants to do with us. What he does need is people who will agree with him about what the real priorities are, like feeding the hungry rather than building big fancy church houses. You may say God told you to do this. Then you had better be right that he did. If God did not say it then you will find yourselves in very much trouble with him for misusing his money. He cares much more for people in need than for buildings that cannot speak or breathe. God bless you and may yo be fond in the truth in this matter.
