Becoming a Lifegiving Spirit, 7/5/19

God's plan for us, if we will cooperate with him in it, and what should be our goal in the christian walk, is to become conformed to the image of Christ and become a fully mature son of God:

Romans 8:29 New King James Version (NKJV)

29 For whom He foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brethren.

So we are to become like him:

1 John 3:2

Beloved, now we are children of God; and it has not yet been revealed what we shall be, but we know that when He is revealed, we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is.

But what is that exactly? Well, as we should expect, the scripture answers that question for us. The Word of God clearly tells us that he became a "Lifegiving spirit":

1 Corinthians 15:45 New King James Version (NKJV)

45 And so it is written, “The first man Adam became a living being.” The last Adam[Jesus] became a life-giving spirit.

So, if we are to be conformed to his image and become like him, and he became a lifegiving spirit, then God intends that we too are to become a lifegiving spirit.

So this is the plan of God for all who will believe it and receive it and totally surrender to him and yield to the fullness of his plan for our life. But most believers will not go that deep in God. It is not an easy road for us to live this but it can be done. Doubters may say that this is not for this lifetime but that is not so for there have been many who Never Died. And this immortality is available to us too if we go deep enough with God to achieve transfiguration and translation. Jesus modeled transfiguration for us on the Mount:

Matthew 17:1-3 New King James Version (NKJV)

17 Now after six days Jesus took Peter, James, and John his brother, led them up on a high mountain by themselves; 2 and He was transfigured before them. His face shone like the sun, and His clothes became as white as the light. 3 And behold, Moses and Elijah appeared to them, talking with Him.

We should not doubt that this is for us to because Jesus himself also told us that we would do greater things than he did:

John 14:12 New King James Version (NKJV)

12 “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father.

But it is only through that route that we can inherit the Kingdom of God. In our flesh we cannot do it:

1 Corinthians 15:50 New King James Version (NKJV)

50 Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; nor does corruption inherit incorruption.

So let us believe the truth that God wants to transform us into a lifegiving spirit like Jesus is and become his brothers and thus inherit the Kingdom of God. Let us seek and pursue it with all our hearts.
