Blessed Friend

He needs to find a resting place

Bring us home together

Help us find our place in the sun

Help us find our place in the Son

Stephen Pursell, 11/26/02

He's tired, Lord, he's hungry

Blow on his face, stroke him to sleep

Be his Papa and cradle him

Wrap up the little boy inside

Come to him and snuggle him

Whisper gently to him in the night

Bless my friend, Lord, carry him

The music of children's voices

Shouting and singing

Running through the grass

Skipping and playing

Make us children again

Heal us with your words

Heal us with each other

Hug us with each other

I need the same healing

And maybe me too

Hold him and heal him

Pull him close, bathe him in your love

Show him he'll not be pushed aside

Help him feel he's not forgotten

Let him know he is not alone

Strengthen him in the fight

Bless him as he tosses to and fro

Bless him Lord, bless my friend
