Rejoice Over Judgments, 9/15/15

The judgments of God have been here in America for awhile now but they are prophesied to get much more serious in the next few weeks. Our response needs to of course be the appropriate repentance and turning to righteous living that they judgments are designed to teach:

Isaiah 26:9 New King James Version (NKJV)

9 ...For when Your judgments are in the earth,

The inhabitants of the world will learn righteousness.

But there is another component to how we should respond that most believers do not understand. That is that we should also to rejoice:

Psalm 48:11 New King James Version (NKJV)

11 Let Mount Zion rejoice,

Let the daughters of Judah be glad,

Because of Your judgments.

Psalm 96:10-13 New King James Version (NKJV)

10

Say among the nations, “The Lord reigns;

The world also is firmly established,

It shall not be moved;

He shall judge the peoples righteously.”

11

Let the heavens rejoice, and let the earth be glad;

Let the sea roar, and all its fullness;

12

Let the field be joyful, and all that is in it.

Then all the trees of the woods will rejoice before the Lord.

13

For He is coming, for He is coming to judge the earth.

He shall judge the world with righteousness,

And the peoples with His truth.

Psalm 97:1-8 New King James Version (NKJV)

A Song of Praise to the Sovereign Lord

97 The Lord reigns;

Let the earth rejoice;

Let the multitude of isles be glad!

2

Clouds and darkness surround Him;

Righteousness and justice are the foundation of His throne.

3

A fire goes before Him,

And burns up His enemies round about.

4

His lightnings light the world;

The earth sees and trembles.

5

The mountains melt like wax at the presence of the Lord,

At the presence of the Lord of the whole earth.

6

The heavens declare His righteousness,

And all the peoples see His glory.

7

Let all be put to shame who serve carved images,

Who boast of idols.

Worship Him, all you gods.

8

Zion hears and is glad,

And the daughters of Judah rejoice

Because of Your judgments, O Lord.

Psalm 98:4-9 New King James Version (NKJV)

4

Shout joyfully to the Lord, all the earth;

Break forth in song, rejoice, and sing praises.

5

Sing to the Lord with the harp,

With the harp and the sound of a psalm,

6

With trumpets and the sound of a horn;

Shout joyfully before the Lord, the King.

7

Let the sea roar, and all its fullness,

The world and those who dwell in it;

8

Let the rivers clap their hands;

Let the hills be joyful together before the Lord,

9

For He is coming to judge the earth.

With righteousness He shall judge the world,

And the peoples with equity.

When we understand that God's righteous judgments are meant to teach right living then we can rejoice that they are upon us and will have their intended effect. If we love the Lord then we will desire to see our nation live right before the Lord and only his judgments can take us there.

We should sigh and mourn over sin in our land and agree with Jesus' Broken Heart over the abominations that are being committed in our nation but we should not mourn over God judging them. If we are right in heart we will be glad to see him do so in ore that righteousness may be taught to us.

So be encouraged!! There is going to be a LOT to rejoice about in the next few years!! Hallelujah!!
