Jesus Is God in the Flesh, 7/3/18

The confession that Jesus is God in the flesh is the test by which we discern whether a spirit speaking is of God:

1 John 4:3

3 and every spirit that does not confess that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is not of God. And this is the spirit of the Antichrist, which you have heard was coming, and is now already in the world.

Scripture adjures us to hold fast to your confession:

Hebrews 4:14

Seeing then that we have a great High Priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession.

Hebrews 10:23

Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful.

The truth that Jesus is God in the flesh is the single most important confession we can make.

Steve Pursell, 7/3/18

The scripture makes clear that one cannot even utter this truth from his lips except by the Holy Spirit:

1 Corinthians 12:3

Therefore I make known to you that no one speaking by the Spirit of God calls Jesus accursed, and no one can say that Jesus is Lord except by the Holy Spirit.

The revelation that Jesus is God in the flesh, or, God in human form, is the cornerstone of all truth and creation:

1 Timothy 3:16

16 And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness:

God was manifested in the flesh,

Justified in the Spirit,

Seen by angels,

Preached among the Gentiles,

Believed on in the world,

Received up in glory.

This central truth is so important, that the acceptance or rejection of it defines whether or not one is of God's spirit:

1 John 4:2

2 By this you know the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is of God,
