Prayer of Consecration, 10/13

Heavenly Father, I come before your awesome presence in the name of my Savior, Jesus Christ of Nazareth, your Only Begotten Son, whom I freely confess as God come in the flesh and King over all creation. I give you praise, glory and honor for who you are, the Almighty God: the Matchless, Magnificent and Glorious One who lives in Unapproachable Light and who is Holy and Worthy and indescribably beautiful. I bless your Mighty Name. I thank you that you have given me eternal life through the cross and blood of Christ. I come to you today to make a more full surrender of my life to you. I understand that your highest purpose for me is not just to be saved or even to have a fruitful ministry but to be truly conformed to the likeness of Christ in this life that I may reign with him in the ages to come as a son of God according to:

2 Timothy 2:12

If we endure, we shall also reign with Him. If we deny Him, He also will deny us

Ephesians 2:6-7

[He has] raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, that in the ages to come He might show the exceeding riches of His grace in His kindness toward us in Christ Jesus

I declare my desire to walk in the spirit of sonship according to:

Romans 8:15

For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of sonship by whom we cry out, “Abba, Father.”

Romans 8:29 New King James Version (NKJV)

29 For whom He foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brethren.

I understand and accept that suffering with Jesus and for him is an essential key to being perfected into the image of Christ:

Hebrews 2:10 New King James Version (NKJV)

10 For it was fitting for Him, for whom are all things and by whom are all things, in bringing many sons to glory, to make the captain of their salvation perfect through sufferings.

I commit my life to you on a whole new level, that you would put me on your potter’s wheel and shape me into a complete vessel: totally holy and walking in the fullness of sonship. I freely make this confession: that I understand that to become conformed to the image of Christ, I must partake of the fellowship of his sufferings according to:

Philippians 1:29

For to you it has been granted on behalf of Christ, not only to believe in Him, but also to suffer for His sake

Philippians 3:10

That I may know Him and the power of His resurrection, and the fellowship of His sufferings, being conformed to His death.

Today I declare to you my willingness to enter into that process. I ask that you allow me to suffer persecution for the name of the Lord Jesus that I may also be perfected like him and glorified with him according to:

Romans 8:17

if [we are] sons, then heirs—heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him, that we may also be glorified together.

I ask you to do whatever you want to do in my life to make me like Jesus, no matter how painful, frightening, or humbling. I declare my willingness and desire to eagerly embrace suffering for righteousness according to:

2 Corinthians 12:10

Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in needs, in persecutions, in distresses, for Christ’s sake. For when I am weak, then I am strong.

I declare that I am your servant to do with as you please and I declare my trust in you to bring me through whatever you ordain for my life, no matter how trying. I thank you in advance for the honor of being counted worthy of sharing in my Lord’s sufferings and I bless your name for it. I declare my understanding that I have been given my life in Christ so that I would bring glory to Jesus and that he deserves all the glory for the ways you will display yourself in and through me. I ask you to discipline me as a son according to:

Hebrews 12:6-8

For whom the Lord loves He chastens, and scourges every son whom He receives. If you endure chastening, God deals with you as with sons; for what son is there whom a father does not chasten? But if you are without chastening, of which all have become partakers, then you are illegitimate and not sons.

I declare my willingness and desire to receive all the necessary correction, discipline, and even judgment if necessary, that I need to reach the fullness of sonship in this life and walk in complete holiness and Christlikeness.

Lord, I also know you are a consuming fire:

Hebrews 12:29

For our God is a consuming fire.

So I also ask that you give me the Baptism of Fire as you did the 120 disciples on the day of Pentecost:

Acts 2:3 New King James Version (NKJV)

3 Then there appeared to them divided tongues, as of fire, and one sat upon each of them.

Thank you, Most Gracious Heavenly Father, for giving me the willingness to pray this prayer. I put myself in your hands to bring it to fruition. Lord, I thank you for all this and ask that you seal it in the Holy Spirit. Amen.
