Dispatching Angels, 1/16/15

One of the many countless benefits we enjoy as children of God and kings and priests in the Kingdom of God is the authority to dispatch angels.

This is a very important part of the last days plan of God for the sons of God and the overcoming Warrior Bride of Christ and all the glorious things that are a part of True Eschatology. Angels are spiritual servants of God who serve us:

Hebrews 1:13-14 New King James Version (NKJV)

13 But to which of the angels has He ever said:

“Sit at My right hand,

Till I make Your enemies Your footstool”?

14 Are they not all ministering spirits sent forth to minister for those who will inherit salvation?

The availability of them is age old and not specific to any covenant but have always been in the unseen realms around servants of God as evidenced by this awesome display or warring angels around the prophet Elisha:

2 Kings 6:16-17 New King James Version (NKJV)

16 So he answered, “Do not fear, for those who are with us are more than those who are with them.” 17 And Elisha prayed, and said, “Lord, I pray, open his eyes that he may see.” Then the Lord opened the eyes of the young man, and he saw. And behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha.

Jesus spoke of the dispatching of angels just before the cross:

Matthew 26:53

Or do you think that I cannot now pray to My Father, and He will provide Me with more than twelve legions of angels?

So obviously he had been doing it in his ministry although he did not teach on it extensively in the recorded texts.

And we do not need to doubt that Jesus wants to give us this authority as well since he himself said we would do the same things he did and greater things:

John 14:12 New King James Version (NKJV)

12 “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father.

There are tremendous numbers of angels available for us to pray for God to dispatch. The scripture says there are so many that they cannot be counted:

Hebrews 12:22

But you have come to Mount Zion and to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, to an innumerable company of angels,

I can count to 999 nonillion so that tells me that there are more than that. So the numbers are staggering. So we can believe we can be very bold in requesting for great numbers of angels to serve the purposes of the Kingdom of God and the Army Of Light. God is the Creator and so we know the can create more angels anytime he wants and there is no biblical reason to believe he has limited the number of angels that do or will ever exist.

Some may argue with this and refer to this passage that may or may not refer to angels:

Revelation 12:3-4 New King James Version (NKJV)

3 And another sign appeared in heaven: behold, a great, fiery red dragon having seven heads and ten horns, and seven diadems on his heads. 4 His tail drew a third of the stars of heaven and threw them to the earth. And the dragon stood before the woman who was ready to give birth, to devour her Child as soon as it was born.

From this they argue that there are a finite number of angels and that one-third of them rebelled with Satan.

Personally I believe it is a mistake to assign the word "stars" to angels. The scriptural use of the words "stars" as it pertains to spiritual beings and not celestial bodies shows "stars" are actually another class of spiritual beings that technically are not angels. Scriptural use of words is specific and thus we can believe that when God means "angel" he says "angel" and when he means "star" he says "star." But even if it is true that this passage refers to angels then we can derive from this that there are at least two angels for very fallen angel in Satan's hosts. This is encouraging, emboldening news when we know that God angels are not only more numerous but also more powerful that Satan's fallen angels because good triumphs over evil.

There are four main types of angels: Healing, Warring, Messenger, and Strength. These four categories are revealed in the four faces of the cherubim(which also are another class of being and not angels) that God showed Ezekiel:

Ezekiel 1:10 New King James Version (NKJV)

10 As for the likeness of their faces, each had the face of a man; each of the four had the face of a lion on the right side, each of the four had the face of an ox on the left side, and each of the four had the face of an eagle.

The man face represents the archangel Raphael and his hosts of healing angels. The lion face represents the archangel Michael and his hosts of warring angels. The ox face represents the archangel Uriel and his hosts of angel of strength. And the eagle face represents the archangel Gabriel and his hosts of messenger angels.

From what I understand at this point I believe we can dispatch warring and healing angels but I am uncertain whether all believers can dispatch messenger and strength angels, this may be a matter of the authority of a given servant of God.

Perhaps the most valuable use of this authority we have to dispatch angels is in spiritual warfare. Satan and his demonic host(which definitely are limited in number and much less than the angelic hosts) live and operate in the second heaven and oppress vast portions of the earth from that position. It is especially valuable to dispatch warring angels to do battle against them when we are contending for a Kingdom breakthrough in the spiritual realm in a particular region.

So be blessed and seek the Lord to start letting the Holy Spirit teach you how to dispatch angels in warfare and healing that we may reclaim this earth for Jesus and present it to him as he comes to receive that which is his own.
