Baptism of Fire, 10/26/16

Most christians know about the Baptism of Water and some know about the Baptism of the Holy Spirit while few know about the Baptism of Fire. But Jesus came to baptize us not only in the Holy Spirit but also in Fire:

Matthew 3:11

I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance, but He who is coming after me is mightier than I, whose sandals I am not worthy to carry. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and Fire.

Both of these two Baptisms came together on the Day of Pentecost:

Acts 2:2-4 New King James Version (NKJV)

2 And suddenly there came a sound from heaven, as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting. 3 Then there appeared to them divided tongues, as of fire, and one sat upon each of them. 4 And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.

But they are not all one baptism, they are two separate baptisms, which can come separately, they just came together that day. The bible makes it clear that there are many baptisms:

Hebrews 6:2 New King James Version (NKJV)

2 of the doctrine of baptisms, of laying on of hands, of resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment.

Jesus told us of three, one into each member of the Godhead:

Matthew 28:19

Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,

Most believers think he meant to baptize disciples in water and claim it to be in the name of the three members of the Godhead. But that is not what he meant. What he meant was to bring disciples through the three different Baptisms, one into each member of the Godhead. The Baptism of Water is the Baptism into the person of Jesus. The Baptism of the Holy Spirit is into the person of the Holy Spirit. We already know and have these two. But Jesus came to show us the Father and to teach us to know the Father. And we cannot know the Father unless we have been baptized into his person too. God the Father is the Consuming Fire:

Hebrews 12:29

For our God is a consuming fire.

The Baptism of Fire baptizes us in the person of the Father.

The Baptism of Fire, which is evidenced by visible tongues of fire resting on the heads of the recipients just a in Acts 2, is ministered to us by the seraphim:

Isaiah 6:6-7New King James Version (NKJV)

6 Then one of the seraphim flew to me, having in his hand a live coal which he had taken with the tongs from the altar. 7 And he touched my mouth with it, and said:

“Behold, this has touched your lips;

Your iniquity is taken away,

And your sin purged.”

As you can see, this ministry of the Fire by the seraphim burns out all sin and iniquity, both from present and past generations, iniquity is the sin that is in us from birth that comes from our ancestors. The Fire burns it all out. That is how and why men like the apostle John, who had the Baptism of Fire from Acts 2, could say that we are able to be sinless:

1John 3:9

Whoever has been born of God does not sin, for His seed remains in him; and he cannot sin, because he has been born of God.

So we see that we are not completely born of God until we also receive the Baptism of Fire and have all our sin and iniquity burned out of us. Then we are truly fully born of God and no longer sin. John had this, that is why he could say what he said.
