Friend of the Bridegroom, 6/23/15

We all need to understand what kind of a relationship Jesus is looking to have with us. I hope we all understand that friendship is the foundation of a good marriage. Many want to claim to be a part of the Bride of Christ but are they a friend to God? Jesus is looking for people he can trust with his messages, secrets, and plans: people who are willing to serve him sacrificially and suffer with him and for him and thereby prove their worthiness as his intimate friend. Suffering persecution for this name endears us to him very powerfully, he appreciates those who share in his sufferings. Wouldn’t you? Just like anyone who is searching for true love Jesus is looking to marry his best friend. Not every one who is saved is a part of the Bride of Christ, only those he can call his friends. Are you his friend? How paramount is your relationship with him in your heart? What are you willing to sacrifice or suffer for him? We only have one lifetime to establish this friendship with God and our standing in eternity will depend on it. Spend your time and your love wisely.

Romans 8:17 King James Version (KJV)

17 And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.
