Prayer For Our Perverted Nation, 6/26/15

Abba , Father, I come before your awesome throne today with a heavy and righteously angry heart. I confess the hideous sin of my nation of perverts that has equated the hideous abomination of sodomy with the sacred beauty of marriage. We have trampled your goodness to us in the dust and embraced the filthy ways of your enemy who seeks only to steal kill and destroy. Father, I know that only your righteous judgments can turn this nation from its incredible folly and love of sin, so judge us I pray. Release your righteous judgments which are designed to teach us righteousness:

Isaiah 26:9 New King James Version (NKJV)

9 ...For when Your judgments are in the earth,

The inhabitants of the world will learn righteousness.

I pray for mercy within the context of these judgments: be as merciful as you can in judging us but judge us none the less. We are a wicked, proud people that has grown to hate you and our pride needs to be crushed. Humble us with your judgments Father, it is a mercy to us to do whatever it takes to bring us to repentance. Judge us so that we may rejoice in your judgments as your word instructs us to do:

Psalm 96:11-13 New King James Version (NKJV)

11

Let the heavens rejoice, and let the earth be glad;

Let the sea roar, and all its fullness;

12

Let the field be joyful, and all that is in it.

Then all the trees of the woods will rejoice before the Lord.

13

For He is coming, for He is coming to judge the earth.

He shall judge the world with righteousness,

And the peoples with His truth.

Psalm 98:4-9New King James Version (NKJV)

4

Shout joyfully to the Lord, all the earth;

Break forth in song, rejoice, and sing praises.

5

Sing to the Lord with the harp,

With the harp and the sound of a psalm,

6

With trumpets and the sound of a horn;

Shout joyfully before the Lord, the King.

7

Let the sea roar, and all its fullness,

The world and those who dwell in it;

8

Let the rivers clap their hands;

Let the hills be joyful together before the Lord,

9

For He is coming to judge the earth.

With righteousness He shall judge the world,

And the peoples with equity.

I cry out!!! Oh GOD!! Judge us mercifully but judge us mercifully and help us to repent that this filthy madness will end!!!

-Steve Pursell, 6/26/15

This is image is filthy and sickening but I use it as a sober reminder of the hideous reality of the state of America at this point in time. Woe to us if we continue in the way of the ostrich now.
