My King
To seek you with all that is in me
That you would know your desire
A Bride that truly deserves you
Whom you have deserved for so long
No longer the wretch that you died for
But righteous and pure
Without spot or wrinkle
Your helpmeet
Madly in love with her King
Stephen Pursell, 6/8/15
Let this be the cry of my heart
Mighty God!
"Have you seen the One my heart loves?"
Catching the watchmen and asking
Your name alone on my lips
Run through the streets
So now let me come out to pursue you
The One with your hand in the lock
You are my Master
That being without you creates
Nothing can fill the void
You are the Pearl of Great Price
My King, I want you
Lay it all down time and again
To seek you as you deserve
How can I be let in?
What is your secret?
Filling with you and pouring it out
Coming deeper into your chamber
Ever to be moving closer
Only to know you
To know you as no one else has
Give you the all it requires
How do I pay the price it takes?
How can I achieve it?
Being your most trusted brother
Serving next to you forever
The dream of being your friend
I am captured in the thought of you
Nothing can replace you in my heart
My God and King how I want you
Deeper in the folds of your greatness
Only ever higher
Never will we plumb the depths of you
But forever we will explore
You have chosen to unveil so far
That is only the part
A Bride, sons to the Father
Brothers to the King
But still I know it is greater
Oh, you have written some of it, I know
What is in your mind?
How could you do it?
Nestled at a mother's breast?
To be diapered and burped
As to be become a helpless babe?
Could bow yourself so low
Creator of all things
That One so great as you
How is it
Fumble for the words to speak of you
I whom you have gifted to write
I cannot say it
What words?
With absolutely no effort
And control everything about them
That you simply thought them into being
Next to the greatness of your person
So small and inconsequential
Are miniscule to you
Countless galaxies and solar systems
The moon and the stars
The wonder of the planets in motion
The unfathomable depth of the expanse
That the things we are awed with
Things so great to men
The mighty mountains
The vastness of the sea
So grand in scope
Eternal
But predating that
Not merely everlasting
A King so Beautiful
How do I pen it?
So what then do I say?
