Lift Me

I see standing grain wave
I see butterflies float along
Dandelions tufts borne aloft
Trees sway in the wind
Eagles soar up high in the blue
Though all I really see
Is an ugly prison yard
Through a heavily barred window

Carry me away
Let me come into your courts
Let me nestle in the folds of your cloak
Open wide your arms to me
Ancient of Days
Come breathe on me
Your mighty rushing wind
Voice like many waters

Take me away
Lift my head, dry my eyes
Man of sorrows, acquainted with grief
Bear my stripes, heal me
Crown of thorns you bore
That my brow may lighten
David said it well
Can I praise you from the grave?
Restore to me the joy of my salvation
